Count Us Grateful...
Thank you, voters, for passing Prop. 1, our Highline technology levy. Approval is at 73.5% for returns counted by November 6! You came through for our students with our highest approval rate in decades. We deeply appreciate your continued support of our students, staff and schools in 2020--more than ever.
Superintendent Susan Enfield put it this way in her election night announcement: “Our community is making a big investment in our students. This is a huge win for our students and staff.” Don't miss her video thanking voters and Yes for Highline campaign volunteers.
Our voters made it clear they want to ensure all students—no matter their economic background —have access to the tools they need to learn from home during the pandemic and in the classroom when they return.
What Will Our Tech Levy Fund and When?
The tech levy will replace outdated computers for students and staff, ensure internet access, support training for our teachers, increase cybersecurity and fund innovative classroom technology. With funding from the tech levy, our students will graduate prepared for tomorrow’s jobs and the future they choose.
The two-year tech levy is on 2021 and 2022 Highline property taxes. The levy will help us meet our technology needs over the next two years.
Wtth levy funding, we will be able to continue to upgrade and purchase technology to support our students and staff during the pandemic and when we return to classrooms. (Thank you, Highline voters!)
A quick glance at our strategic plan, Our Promise, all five bold goals and our four foundation pillars, highlights how technology now supports every area of what we do and believe—especially this year!
