Alexandria Haas, principal at McMicken Heights Elementary was named this year’s Washington State National Distinguished Principal. She traveled to Washington D.C. this week to represent our state and be recognized by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP).
The NAESP program honors outstanding elementary and middle school principals who ensure students acquire a sound foundation for lifelong learning and achievement. School leaders are nominated by their peers in the state.
Principal Haas leads a school culture of high expectations and excellence, while promoting social-emotional learning and culturally responsive instruction to serve all students. She inspires all students and staff at McMicken to aim high and achieve their fullest potential.
