Webinar for Families of Students in Special Education

Special Education directors will host another webinar on Thursday, August 20, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. for families of students with IEPs. They will discuss plans for instruction and scheduling during Distance Learning.

More than 700 people tuned in to our Distance Learning Family Webinars on August 11. Webinar recordings will be closed captioned and posted early next week. Thank you for your questions, engagement and patience during this planning. We will host another webinar series before school for further updates. 

Featured FAQ - What are Family Connection Days?

We are beginning the year with Family Connection Days to maximize preparedness and opportunity to connect with families before the first student instruction day. Meetings will be held on September 3, 4 or 8 and will last 15 to 30 minutes. 

Schools will reach out to schedule your Family Connection meeting. During these meetings families and students will connect with their child’s teacher (elementary) or advisory instructor (secondary). Families and students will share information about their strengths and needs and concerns or supports they may need. Teachers will create a continuous communication plan to celebrate what is working and to make adjustments as needed this year.
